Dr. James Grundy, DDS
Owner/DentistDr. James Grundy is the owner and founder of Grundy Dental Studio in Boise, ID. Raised in South Africa before moving to Colorado Springs, Dr. Grundy cultivated a deep empathy for dental patients from his own childhood experiences. He earned his undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Utah School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he undertook an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) with the US Army, focusing on prosthetics, periodontal surgery, implants, TMJ/TMD, and sleep dentistry. Dr. Grundy served four years of active duty at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX, and was Director of the US Army Ft Bliss Red Cross and tobacco cessation programs. His passion for technical excellence is matched by a steadfast commitment to compassionate, personalized care—especially for patients who have had prior dental trauma or anxiety. Outside dentistry, Dr. Grundy enjoys golf, water skiing, rafting, hiking, snow skiing, and snowboarding, as well as traveling internationally and working on cars.
