SmartLipo™ (Smart Lipo) uses a paperclip—thin laser fiber which is inserted into a very tiny incision. In a traditional liposuction procedure, the patient is put under, opened up and solid chunks of fat are sucked out. Local anesthesia is used in the Smartlipo procedure, and the client walks out in an hour or two. Several areas of the body may be treated at one time. Recently this technique has become more popular for maximizing the safety of liposuction. Laser Liposuction may be done totally by local anesthesia with minimal bruising or blood loss. What are the Benefits of Tumescent Liposuction? Tumescent liposuction is a technique that allows the procedure to be performed completely with local anesthetics. Patients no longer need intravenous sedatives, narcotic analgesics, or general anesthesia. Bruising and blood loss is kept to a minimum via capillary constriction caused by the epinephrine in the anesthetic solution, during and after liposuction. This is a major improvement in the liposuction technique compared to the older methods that simply use general anesthesia. Rapid Healing after Tumescent Liposuction. After tumescent liposuction, there is a certain amount of blood-tinged local anesthetic solution that remains under the skin. This excess fluid is either slowly absorbed over several weeks into the bloodstream, or it can be rapidly removed by drainage through skin incisions and absorbed by special absorptive pads. Our Liposuction is an outpatient procedure and you can actually walk out of our office! Vaser: Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction VASER® combines patented new ultrasound technology with advanced surgical techniques to break up fatty tissue and for fat removal. Large amounts of unwanted fat can be efficiently removed from abs, arms, back, hips, knees, love handles, neck and chin, saddlebags, thighs – any place you’ve developed a little “extra cushioning.” VASER uses ultrasound technology for fatty tissue removal.   Hyperhidrosis Severe underarm sweating is a medical condition known as severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, which involves overactive sweat glands. Sweat is your body’s temperature regulator. In severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, sweating significantly exceeds the body’s normal requirements for cooling. Botox Treatment BOTOX® is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating that is inadequately managed with topical agents. Hyperhidrosis is a disorder characterized by excessive uncontrollable sweating in excess of the amount required to regulate body temperature.   What are dermal fillers? Dermal Fillers, most commonly referred to as just fillers or injectables, are gel-like products that help fill wrinkles, restore volume loss or add definition to areas of the face. Now with so many different types of fillers on the market, our expert injectors are able to customize fillers treatments for each individual. Dermal fillers can be us used to address one area or can be used in a combination with Botox for full-face liquid lifts, a non-surgical alternative to a facelift. In the past, Dermal Fillers were used to primarily for filling in wrinkles. While we still do that, over the past 20 years we have learned the best areas to inject to restore volume loss to provide natural anti-aging results – without just filling in lines. For example, filling in sunken cheeks or injecting the temple to provide a subtle lift. Dermal Filler treatments should be customized to your face and natural symmetry to avoid looking overdone. Is it painful? During your dermal filler appointment, one of our expert injectors will meet with you to discuss your goals and make a treatment plan. Then the area will be cleaned and prepped for injection. Most filler treatments take around 15 minutes for the actual injection, depending on how many areas are being injected. Filler injections can be uncomfortable for some patients and certain areas of the face are more sensitive than others. We have tools available to help make our treatments more comfortable and will discuss those options at the beginning of each appointment. We offer all the FDA approved dermal fillers on the market, including: Juvederm Fillers, Restylane Fillers, Radiesse & Belotero and BellaFill. Are there after-care instructions with dermal fillers? After-care instructions will vary based on the area injected. It is important to follow all instructions given to you at your appointment. But in general: You can return to your normal activities immediately following your appointment. For the first 24 hours after your dermal filler injections, you should leave the injection sites alone. Rubbing the areas can cause the filler to move, so you need to let it settle in for a day. Avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after injection. Also, avoid sleeping on the area injected for the first few days. How soon will I see results? Results with most dermal fillers are immediate, as volume is instantly returned to the areas. This contrasts with Botox injections, where it usually takes 3-4 days for Botox to fully take effect before results are seen. Sculptra is a little different. Sculptra is a long-term filler that works for up to two years. It doesn’t provide immediate results, as the poly-L-lactic acid in this filler works within the skin to replace lost collagen. Sculptra provides building results over the course of the three injections that are given over the course of three or four months. This is our go-to product for liquid lifts and all over collagen stimulation. Sculpture can also be used in non-surgical Brazillian butt lifts. How long will my results last? The duration of your results varies by the filler. During your appointment, your injector will discuss the different filler options, prices, and longevity. Fillers like Juvederm Xc (commonly used in lips) is indicated for 1 year. Other fillers like Voluma and Restylane Lyft Radiesse and indicated for 2 years. Sculptra is indicated for 3 years with results gradually over time. Are dermal fillers safe? Dermal fillers have been extensively testing prior to receiving approval for use by the FDA. Our most commonly used products are Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma. They are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body, so allergic reactions are virtually unheard of. The poly-L-lactic acid in Sculptra is biocompatible and biodegradable, so the body accepts it. We only used FDA approved products.

  Acne Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT) is a safe and highly effective method of treating not only moderate to severe acne, but a variety of skin conditions. Acne Photo Treatments or PDT is a proven alternative to systemic drugs such as Accutane®, which carries significant risks and side effects.* Acne can be difficult to treat. Finding the best treatment for each individual can be trial and error because so many factors come into play. Diet, stress, and chocolate are often blamed for causing acne, but it is more likely that genetics, hormones, clogged pores and bacteria are the major causes of acne. Because every patient is different and different types of acne need to be treated differently, during the initial consultation a medical aesthetician will perform an in-depth Visia Skin analysis to determine the best treatment approach. These factors cause the sebaceous glands (oil producing glands in the skin) to produce excess oil (sebum), which combined with dead skin cells, clog the opening of the pores. Levulan®, a clear painless solution, is applied to your skin and left on for 30-minutes to several hours. The Levulan® is absorbed by active cells like acne sebaceous glands, making the targeted acne cells more sensitive to the light. During the procedure, Levulan® is activated with the correct wavelength of light within the non-UV blue spectrum. This combined interaction of the solution and the light is what gives rise to the term “photodynamic therapy” or “acne photo therapy.” Treatments target and destroy acne activity leaving your skin smoother and in many cases makes it possible to avoid or discontinue the use of antibiotics such as Accutane®. • PDO Threads

  What are PDO Threads? PDO threads are hypodermic needles preloaded with an absorbable PDO suture. PDO stands for polydioxanone. It’s a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polydioxanone. PDO sutures are used to perform cardiothoracic surgery (such as open heart-surgery). It’s one of the safest materials to be planted in the body. Your skin fully absorbs it within 4 to 6 months and wont leave you with any scar tissue. How Does PDO Thread Treatment Work? 1. Controlled Healing: In medical terms “selective inflammatory response” is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures (such as fractional laser, chemical peels and microneedling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting PDO threads we make it “heal” itself by creating new collagen, naturally! 2. Mesh or Lift There are two types of procedures with PDO threads: Smooth Threads: Smooth threads consists of creating a mesh under the the skin (ie 2 sutures inserted vertically & 3 sutures horizontally). Sort of like a #hashtag, or a net. This mesh will serve as the foundation for our new collagen production. This technique tightens the skin naturally from within. Results appear naturally, without and drastic change. Barbed Threads: The other technique (using barbed threads) is utilized to produce a more dramatic and immediate result. The PDO sutures have “barbs”, which provide a grip underneath the skin. Sutures are inserted the same way, except they can be pulled in 1 or 2 directions, creating an instant skin repositioning. Just like with the Smooth threads, the skin will then build new collagen which will secure the lift! With fractional laser resurfacing the laser beam is broken up or fractionated into many small micro beams (DOTs!) which are separated so that when they strike the skin surface small areas of the skin between the beams are not hit by the laser and left intact. These small areas of untreated skin promote a much more rapid recovery and healing with less risk of complications. The small areas treated by the fractional microbeams, called micro treatment zones, cause sufficient laser injury to promote new collagen production and resultant facial skin rejuvenation. ( See Diagram Below) The 2000s saw the development of lasers like Fraxel, which is a non-ablative fractional resurfacing laser. Although it offers less downtime, the results are subtle at best. The Smartxide DOT CO2 laser represents a new generation of ablative fractional resurfacing lasers (see far right above). Unlike Fraxel, the Smartxide DOT actually removes the heated column of skin tissue (ablation) and provides more substantial wrinkle removal and deep skin tightening. DOT Therapy (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) is the ideal micro-ablative approach to skin rejuvenation. It creates thousands of microscopic perforations, which induce immediate skin tightening and stimulate new collagen growth, improving the skin’s texture and tone to fight fine lines and deep wrinkles, and even acne scars. DOT Therapy also leaves the skin around each of the perforations intact, which allows the epidermis to heal from the edge of these tiny holes very rapidly, significantly decreasing downtime and promoting rapid healing. As a result, Smartxide DOT offers the results of the traditional CO2 laser, but under local anesthesia with less discomfort and less downtime! What Does SmartXide DOT do? The SmartXide DOT penetrates into the upper layer of the dermis. The dermis is the supporting layer of our skin and contains most of its collagen.
